Jane Braddock, Focused Riding, comes usually twice a month to Smart Start to help riders perfect their riding skills, training techniques and partnership with their horse. She specializes in dressage and jumping but is also wonderful with western riders. Riding in balance and with softness makes us all better horsemen/women no matter what the discipline. The first session of the month is focused on the rider and the horse and getting the best, most correctness of each and the second session is cavaletti. It’s always so interesting working with the horse and witnessing how the horse responds to the challenges of poles!

Anne Cizadlo also comes as a clinician to Smart Start. As an S level dressage judge her eye for correctness is bar none. Her experience with training many horses and her experience as a clinician is fascinating to watch as the exercises chosen for each horse and rider vary immensely to tailor it to what is needed that day at that moment and then giving the rider homework to work on until she comes again. She loves focusing on long term training, getting the basics correct so when it’s time for upper level work a good foundation is already laid down.
